DBSMC-II @ MICCAI 2014 Workshop on “Deep Brain Stimulation Methodological Challenges" (2nd Edition) Sept.14th / Boston (USA)
Scope This MICCAI workshop aims at establishing a forum for discussing advanced methods related to surgical Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). After a 1st successful edition during MICCAI 2012 that mostly focused on preoperative planning and per-operative procedures, this edition aims at discussing the potential of new imaging sequences and new types of stimulation electrodes, as well as an update on anatomo-clinical atlases. This workshop aims at gathering researchers and clinicians in various fields such as medical image computing, computer graphics, computational modeling, computer-aided surgical planning, and interventional imaging to discuss the recent advances and the challenges to address to improve the performance of DBS interventions.
Topics of interests include but are not limited to: New pre / intra / post-op imaging modalities for DBS New stimulation electrodes New neuromodulation systems: TMS, rTMS Assistance to decision making Modeling for surgical workflow optimization DBS pre-operative planning Biomechanical simulation of electrode deformations Validation of DBS planning Biomechanical simulation of brain shift Anatomo-functional brain atlases Segmentation and modeling of anatomical structures of interest Automatic identification of nuclei Modeling of the effect of electrical stimulation Modeling of surgical procedures
